Hi I'm Lee Woodruff at the Craft table with Family Fun. Star gazing has never been easier especially with a cosmic lamp shade, like this.
You'll need a plain fabric shade, low tack shelf liner, a pen, scissors, oil paint sticks, paper plates and some cosmetics sponges. Start by drawing stars on your shelf paper, then cut them out with scissors. Arrange them on your lamp shade and be as creative as you like, the sky's the limit. Next, spread some paint onto a paper plate. Now here comes the really fun part, take a sponge and wipe into the paint then apply it to the edges of your stars using a dabbing motion. Continue until your shade is just the way you like it. When you're finished carefully remove the paper stars. And if you like this stencil effect, next time why not do a wall or ceiling it's a terrific way for your child to sleep under the stars every night
