Hi I'm Lee Woodruff in the kitchen with Family Fun. A strawberry smoothie is a delicious after school snack and it takes only minutes to make.
In addition to a blender you'll need 2 cups of strawberries, a banana, a cup low fat milk, and 2 eight ounce containers of nonfat strawberry yogurt. Wash the strawberries and remove the leafy tops. Then place them in a blender. Next add a banana cut into halves or quarters. You can experiment by substituting different fruit to make your child's favorite combo. Next add the yogurt and then the milk. Secure the lid and blend until its creamy smooth it'll take about a minute. Serve it up in a glass and for the final touch add a strawberry to the rim and for something extra special try this frozen alternative popsicle smoothie you should have just enough left in your blender to make a few. Pour your smoothie into a mold and place popsicles sticks into the centers like so. Then freeze them for 4 to 6 hours now here's an easy trick to unmold them dip them in warm water. Watch how easily they slide out. As a drinker of frozen pop these fruit filled treats are at guaranteed hit.
