Thanksgiving's over and your family is pretty tired of turkey leftovers. I'm Lee Woodruff in the kitchen with Family Fun. Try tex-mex turkey tacos, a simple nutritious meal your kids with gobble up.
You'll need 1 eight ounce can of tomato sauce, a half a cup of chopped onions, tablespoon of vegetables oil, 1 half cup of water, 2 tablespoon of chili powder, a teaspoon of ground cumin, half teaspoon of salt, and 3 cups of shredded cooked turkey meat. And now for the filling you'll need shredded cheese, lettuce, dice tomatoes, chopped avocado, and sliced olives, and of course you need your 12 taco shells. First heat the oil on medium temperature in a large skillet, add the onion let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Now add the tomato sauce, water, cumin, chili powder, and salt. Bring everything to a boil and reduce to a simmer for 2 to 3 minutes. Now stir in the turkey and cook until heated through. Place a quarter of cup a taco filling into each taco shell now here is where your kids can really have fun add the lettuce, shredded cheese, tomato, avocado, and olives whatever your kids like. If your kids are taco fans they'll love to fill their shells with this mildly spicy turkey meat your thanksgiving bird can also be used for nachos, quesadillas, and burritos.
