Flower Power

Total Time Needed:
1-2 Hours

Spring is on its way! Jump-start the growing season with these cheery felt blossoms.

Materials
  • Scissors
  • Felt
  • Thread
  • Sewing needle
  • Hot glue
  • Pom-pom
  • Pin

Instructions
  1. Use scissors to cut a long strip of felt about 1 1/2 inches wide and 8 or 9 inches long. Cut one long edge into a scalloped line or a pointy zigzag. Each shape will make a different type of flower.

  2. Flower Power - Step 2 Thread a needle and knot the thread. Starting at one end of the strip, make large running stitches along the straight edge, as shown. Pull the thread so that the strip gathers into a tight circle, then tie off the thread. Cut a leaf shape from a piece of green felt.

  3. Flower Power - Step 3 (finished) Use hot glue to add a pom-pom to the flower's center and to glue the leaf and pin to the back.
