Confetti Wands

Get the New Year off to a magical start with a wave of these sparkling wands.
- Materials

- Medium-thickness acetate, 6" by 1 1/2' piece (available at art supply stores)
- Scissors
- Tape
- Construction paper
- Colored foil
- Mixing bowl
- Glitter
- Tissue paper

Roll the acetate piece into a tube about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Then close up one end of the tube by cutting slits in the sides, folding the strips over, and taping them down.

To fill, rip construction paper and colored foil into confetti-size pieces, then place them in a large mixing bowl. Add a few tablespoons of glitter and stir the confetti mixture to get an even color distribution.

Using a small funnel made from paper, slowly pour the mixture into the wands and cork the open ends with wads of tissue paper that can be removed easily.
