Each New Year's Day, Kari Mann of Elk Grove, California, asks her kids, Alicia, age eight, Lauren, five, and Kyle, three, the same list of questions, including the three above. Kari writes down Kyle's and Lauren's responses; Alicia records her own. Then all three sign their names and draw a picture of the family on their pages. They store them in their photo albums.

"I love to see how their thoughts and dreams change over the years," says Kari. The kids look forward to it too: "When something exciting happens, they'll say, OOoh, I'll have to write this down on my list this year!"
