bonnets. These chapeaus, made from disposable paper (or foam) bowls and plates, are nearly as much fun to make as they are to wear.
MATERIALS
20 oz. heavy duty paper bowls10 3/8-inch heavy duty paper plates
Pencil
Scissors
Yellow poster or acrylic paint
Roll of 2-inch blue crepe paper streamer
Glue stick--that won't bleed when used on crepe paper
DIRECTIONS
1. For the hat's opening, cut out the outer lip of a bowl, trace the opening onto the plates and cut out the traced circle. Glue a bowl, face down, over the opening.2. After glue dries, paint hats with yellow paint.
3. Once the paint is dry, add a hat band--for each hat, cut off about a yard of streamer and fold in half so that it is 1-inch thick. Draw a line around the crown of the hat with glue stick. Press streamer over the line of glue and tie in a bow at the back.
