THE TRADITION
Dan McAdams, his siblings and their families have always cut down their Christmas trees together. But with busy schedules, they never actually got to visit each other's homes at the holidays. So, about eight years ago, the clan began a traveling party the Sunday before Christmas. It kicks off at 2 P.M. at one home and stretches some 60 miles and seven hours, finishing up at the fifth home at 9 P.M. Food is served along the way, but decorations and family are the focus. "Before, we never seemed to get it together to visit everyone," says Dan's wife, Lauri. "Now we enjoy each other's decorations and company. And the kids love it. All they want to do is play with their cousins."
