A concession stand lends a feeling of authenticity to the event. It can also create a great job for a sibling helper -- at our party, Maddie's brother, Henry, age seven, served up the goods. To create our stand, we placed a table in a doorway, covered the table with a disposable plastic tablecloth, then used pushpins to hang another tablecloth from the top and sides of the doorway. We created a window by cutting out a rectangle. We decorated the stand with foam pennants and used acrylic paint to add the word "Concession" (some colors will need 2 coats).
