Let your guests act out the characters of Blue's Clues with these puppets they make themselves. With a few pieces of felt and glue they can create a puppet show--use Steve's house to set the stage.

MATERIALS

Felt scraps--plenty of colors
Googly eyes
Craft glue
Permanent colored markers
Scissors

DIRECTIONS

1. For each puppet, choose a character and cut out a pair of 1 3/4- by 3-inch felt rectangles for the front and back.

2. Glue together the side and top edges to join the front to the back--leave the bottom egdes open for the finger opening.

3. When the glue dries, round the top of the puppets' head with scissors. Glue on googly eyes and distinguishing character traits. Use permanent marker to draw with. Follow these guidelines to create a character:

Blue:

Use light blue felt for her body, ears, and paws. Cut out and glue on dark blue felt spots and arms. Draw on her nose and doggy tongue with permanent marker.

Steve:

Use tan felt for his body and arms. Cut out green stripes and glue on his "shirt". Draw on nose and smile.

The Spices:

Use grey (Mrs. Pepper), white (Mr. Salt) and rust (Paprika) felt for their bodies. Cut out black for berets and arms. Draw on nose and smile.
