Families that Give

The grand-prize winners of the 2008 FamilyFun Volunteers Contest have generous spirits. To them, "family" is a term big enough to include refugees from other continents, the sick, the homeless, and children in need of a creative outlet. As winner Kathy Fehder says, "Everyone deserves to have a family and people around them who love them."

In recognition of their hard work, each of these five families (selected by FamilyFun with help from HandsOn Network, part of the Points of Light Institute) won $5,000 for the charity of their choice from The Walt Disney Company, our corporate parent. Another 25 first-prize winners won $1,000 to donate. All 30 -- and everyone else who entered -- truly inspired us with their genuine passion for giving.
