Award guests at a dinosaur party for their creative party gear by having a costume contest.

What You Need

• Large tarp or sheet
• Sticks and stones

• Paper awards

Instructions

1. First, before the party begins, create a "cave" by spreading a large tarp or old sheet over low hanging branches or porch furniture. Outside the entrance, place a pile of sticks within a ring of stones to create a "fire."

2. One by one, announce a new name for each child?such as Ooga, Eektar or Rocklob?and send him into the cave. Once all of the cavekids have piled inside, call each child out by his new name and have him sit by the fire; call the birthday child last.

3. Beat on a bongo to encourage the kids to ham it up. When all of the children are out, award each a prize for their costumes such as best bone hairdo, funniest sandals, furriest outfit and so on.

4. Then celebrate with a howling-good dance around the fire.
