Choose a theme for the hunt and gather three related treasures for hiding. Here are a couple of suggestions:
Birthday present time: treasures include little boxes, treats to fill the boxes and ribbons to close the boxes.
Tea time: treasures include cups, herbal tea bags and honey sticks. Before the party, hide the treasures in three different rooms or parts of your yard. Cut out or draw blue paw prints on construction paper and place near the treasures. -
Before the game, explain to the players that there are three objects that they are looking for and to draw in their Handy Dandy notebooks what they find. When they find their second treasure, let each child have a moment in the "Thinking Chair" to ponder what the last treasure may be.
-
After they have a moment in the chair, they look for the third clue. When it is found, indulge the players in the hunt's theme.
