Pin the Spot on the Butterfly

Celebrate your little one's first birthday with some big-time fun

Pin the Spot on the Butterfly

Ages: 18 months and up

Our cheerful variation on the old donkey standby offers some distinct advantages for toddlers: an absence of pins, an abundance of target area, no blindfolds, and no waiting in line! Here's how to make it:

  • Sketch large butterfly wings and a body on heavy colored paper -- or download our 10- by 14-inch butterfly now.
  • Cut out the shapes and glue them onto a piece of poster board or heavy paper (ours is 16 by 19 inches).
  • Add details such as eyes and a smile with a marker or glued-on pieces of paper. On the big day, tape the butterfly to the wall at child's-eye level.
  • To play, supply your partygoers with color-coding dots and encourage them to add spots to the butterfly's body and wings.
