Monkey around in this game that emphasizes teamwork. Like the famous trio of monkeys, team members in this game possess different skills and handicaps.

What You Need

• 2 large, bouncy balls

Instructions

1. Set up a playing area about 40 x 50 ft., with a designated safe zone at each end.

2. Divide the children into two equal teams and assign the members of each team their special skills -- throwing, picking up, and catching -- being sure to spread skills equally.

3. Start each team in its safe zone. Place two large, bouncy balls in the center of the field and yell "Go!"

4. The goal is for each team to eliminate all the opposing players by tagging them with a ball below the waist or arms. (Tags can be made either by throwing the ball or by holding it out to touch another player.) The trick is that a child may not be able to make the tag because she can't pick up the ball, since each child has been assigned different skills.
