Honey Banana Bread

- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup butter or margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup quick-cooking rolled oats
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Cream honey and butter in large bowl until fluffy. Beat in vanilla and eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. In a small bowl, combine flours, oats, baking powder, nutmeg and salt; add to honey mixture alternately with bananas, blending well. Stir in walnuts. Spoon batter into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.

Bake in preheated 325 degree oven 50 to 55 minutes, or until a wooden toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Cool in pan on wire rack 15 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
