Cookie Apple Cobbler

From the kitchen of Kristine Yates, Goldsboro, North Carolina

Ingredients
  • 6 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 roll refrigerated sugar cookie dough

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Peel, core and slice apples; place apples in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Mix sugars and vanilla with apples by shaking ingredients all together.

  4. Butter the bottom and sides of a 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking dish. Put apple mixture into dish.

  5. Cut cookie dough into slices, then into fourths. Place dough pieces all over apple mixture.

  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. (This is dependent on your oven "heat temperature".) Serve warm with vanilla ice cream!
