A delicious snack mix your kids can help make.
- Ingredients
-
- 8 cups popped popcorn
- 3 cups miniature pretzels
- 1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
- 2 tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. maple syrup
- Instructions
-
-
Have your kids measure the popcorn, pretzels, and peanuts into a large mixing bowl.
-
Meanwhile, you can make a toffee syrup by melting the margarine or butter in a saucepan over low heat. Use a wooden spoon to stir in the brown sugar. Continue stirring while the mixture bubbles.
-
Remove from heat and stir in the maple syrup to form a smooth, toffee syrup.
-
Next, drizzle the toffee syrup onto the popcorn, pretzel, and peanut mixture a little at a time, tossing the dry ingredients to coat them evenly with syrup.
-
Once the mixture has cooled, quickly separate it into six equal portions. Place the portions in plastic sandwich bags, and roll the mixture to form a ball. Makes six servings.
