Turn the six-pointed Star of David into a cookie -- and a Hanukkah staple. The foundation of this recipe is the versatile dough that can be customized to create chocolate, colored, striped, or marbleized cookies.

Ingredients
  • 3 sizes of star-shaped cookie cutters
X

Instructions
  1. Cut out a large star from the rolled-out blue cookie dough and place it on a baking sheet. Using a smaller star cutter, cut out the center of the first star and remove it. Use the smaller cutter to cut out a star from the plain cookie dough and insert it into the center of the big star. Repeat with the smallest cutter and blue cookie dough. Gently pich the seams between the stars so they won't separate during baking. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.

Tips:
Instead of rolling out your dough on a floured surface, roll it out between waxed paper. The cookies will stay moist because extra flour is not incorporated during the rolling process.
