Frost this retro cake bright yellow, add a licorice smile, and your party guests will be feeling groovy.

Ingredients

• 2 baked 8- or 9-inch round cakes
• 5 to 6 cups yellow frosting

• Black shoestring licorice
• 2 mint patties

Instructions

1. Layer and frost the cakes.

2. Make the sunglasses out of two mint patties and licorice, then add a big licorice smile.

Tips:

For vibrant colored icing, use paste food colors, which are available at party-supply stores. Keep in mind that a little paste gives a lot of color.
