Instructions
  1. Make a large sheet cake (suggested 11 by 15 inches). Cover with green frosting to re-create the grass playing field, using white icing to draw on the touchlines, halfway line, center circle, and so on.

  2. During the season, photograph the players in groups of 3 and develop each shot into a 4- by 6-inch print.

  3. Cut an oval shape around each player, taping each oval to the top half of a toothpick, leaving the bottom half to stick into the cake. Place the players in their actual positions on the field.

  4. Add goals. The plastic cases used to store Crisco sticks make great ones. You can also uses a permanent marker to darken the net. Or buy mini soccer goals at a toy or party supply store. Put a small toy soccer ball in the middle of the field, and it's party time!
