Teeny Tiny Cake

Teeny Tiny Cake

The Miniature Party calls for a scaled-down birthday cake -- and this one fits the occasion just right.

Ingredients
  • 2 tbsp. fondant(see Tester's Tip below)
  • Cornstarch
  • 2 chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 2 tsp. frosting
  • Food coloring
  • Mini sugar flowers
  • Birthday candle, cut in half
X

Instructions
  1. Roll out a walnut-size piece of fondant to 1/4-inch thickness, dusting it with cornstarch as needed. Stack the cookies as shown and join them with 1 teaspoon of frosting.

  2. Frost the "cake," then drape with fondant, trimming the edges.

  3. Using a clean paintbrush, make designs with food coloring thinned with water. Decorate with sugar flowers and half a candle.

  4. Tip: Fondant is an extra-smooth icing that can be rolled out like cookie dough and draped over cakes. It's available at party-supply stores.
