Gone Fishin' Cake

- Board
- Blue paper
- TO MAKE THE HAT:
- 5" round cake
- Fondant
- Tracing wheel
- Buttercream
- TO MAKE THE FISH:
- 9"x13" cake
- White fondant
- Food color dusts
- Artist's brush
- TO MAKE THE FISHING POLE:
- Gumpaste
- TO MAKE THE BOBBER:
- White chocolate
- Round mold
- Real fishing line
- Gummy worm

A board was covered with blue paper to resemble water.

The hat was made from a 5" round cake covered with fondant. A dress-maker's tracing wheel was used to make the stitching lines. The name was piped in buttercream.

The fish was carved from a 9" x 13" cake and covered in white fondant. Food color dusts (aka "Petal Dusts") in various shades of green and pearl were used to color the fish. They were brushed on dry with a big fluffy artist's brush.

The fishing pole was hand-formed from gumpaste. The bobber was white chocolate and made using a mold.

Real fishing line holds a gummy worm on a gumpaste hook.
