Decide whether you want to freeze juice or water and if you want to incorporate any garnishes, such as cherries, pineapple chunks, grapes or mandarin orange sections.
If you decide to incorporate garnishes, arrange them in the bottom of your pan and pour in enough liquid to form a 1/2-inch layer.
Thoroughly freeze the first layer to anchor the fruit. Next, add another 1/2 inch of liquid and freeze again. For a third layer of color, add liquid to the top.
To release the ring from the mold, quickly submerge the base of the pan in warm water and gently invert the ring over your empty punch bowl.
You can make an even easier ice decoration by freezing juice in ice cube trays.
