My family hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the first time last year. My kids were thrilled until they realized that having so many guests meant they would have to sit with their cousins at a card table. To make this more appealing, I suggested they decorate their table. In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme, Brent and Adam wrapped the legs of the table with red, orange, and yellow crepe paper and then made canvas placemats. The boys even made Pilgrim and Indian headbands. I picked up silly straws, candy kisses, and napkin holders in the shape of turkeys. Needless to say, the cousins thought the table was "rad," and I didn't hear any complaints about not being at the adult table.
