We took a "mini vacation" to the North Pole near Lake Placid, New York. Although it's not as glitzy as Disney or entertaining as a Six Flags amusement park, we had a ball! They have a huge talking Christmas tree, pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, reindeer to feed, cute little shops, and plays on the outdoor stage. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision to go there but one of the best family trips we've had in a long time.
