seventh inning stretch, or snag a bag of peanuts tossed by a vendor in the stands? Small wonder that baseball is considered America's national pastimeit's one of the most relaxing and enjoyable games to watch. Add a hundred years of history and the thrill of seeing a hanging curve walloped into the upper deck and you've got surefire family entertainment. If you want to relive that history, head down to Georgia.
BASEBALL'S PAST IN GEORGIA
In the living history town of Westville Village, Georgia, fans can
relive baseball 1850's style, right down to donning square wool hats and swatting soft, vintage-era baseballs (don't feel bad--you'd have to be darn near Mark McGwire to hit one of these out of the infield!). Step up to the plate with a white oak bat, hand-carved by Westville's own craftsmen, and see what you can do. The game is played on the first Sunday of every month from June through September, noon to 2:00 pm. Call 888-733-1850 for rates and more info.
