THE PAGE MUSEUM AT LA BREA TAR PITS
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
Thousands of mammoths, saber-toothed cats, dire wolves and other prehistoric mammals met their end in La Brea tar pits. The same bubbling, black goo that took their lives, however, guaranteed their immortality. The blackened, fossilized bones excavated from the hardened tar are now on exhibit at this museum and throughout the world. Admission is $6 for adults, $4.50 for kids 13 to 17, $2 for kids ages five to 12 and free for kids under five. For more information, call 323-934-PAGE or visit the Web site.
