An Educational Bug Center

A cool bug zoo in Pennsylvania from FamilyFun

by Troy Corley

THE INSECTARIUM AT STEVE'S BUG-OFF EXTERMINATING COMPANY

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
Part pest-control business and part insectarium, Steve's Bug-Off attracts both bug lovers and haters. Even though a visit may not change your mind about the termites eating your house, these live displays offer valuable lessons about the individuality and importance of bugs. Watch American cockroaches crawl out of cupboards in a model kitchen or check out a working beehive and ant farm. Climb through a spiderweb, see a tarantula eat crickets, and guess your weight in fruit flies. Then munch on spicy Cajun mealworms or candied insect lollipops from the gift shop before scheduling a birthday party at the insectarium. Call 215-338-3000.

Be sure to check out these great learning tools about bugs.
