Located about 30 minutes from Omaha, the Eugene T. Mahoney State Park has one very special attraction--two twisting 236-foot water slides. When we visit the park, my kids spend the day cruising down the slide, taking trail rides and doing leather, bead and woodwork projects in the arts and crafts center while my husband and I enjoy touring the nature conservatory and greenhouse.
In the evening, we all get a kick out of the crowd-pleasing theater productions. Other highlights include a driving range, fishing, horseback riding, miniature golf, paddleboats, a swimming pool, tennis and volleyball. Call 402-944-2523 for more details.
