Be sure to listen for the tinkle of wind chimes as you cross the bridge into the misty world of The Lost Continent, a mythical, medieval land where wizards hold court. Here you'll encounter one of the park's headline attractions, Dueling Dragons, which was rated as one of the park's wildest rides (height requirement: 54 inches). Two suspended coasters (the kind that hang beneath the track) operate at once, coming so close in their mock battle that at three separate points the cars pass within 12 inches of each other. (The guy running the ride explained to me that the technical term for this is "a near miss.")
The Lost Continent is also home to Mythos, the park's premier restaurant, and two stage shows. The Eighth Voyage of Sinbad is a stunt show, and Poseidon's Fury depicts sibling rivalry run amok as Zeus, using fire as his weapon, battles his brother Poseidon, who is armed with water, for world dominion. At one point in this high-tech showdown, a vortex of swirling water rises around the audience.
