Milk a goat, feed a giraffe, tour a Victorian farmhouse--these are just some of the things your family can do at farms around the country. A farm visit is not only a lot of fun, but will sneak in some educational benefits as well. At the Grand Canyon Deer Farm in Williams, Arizona, your kids will get to experience the joy of interacting with fallow deer and a variety of unusual farm animals.

Grand Canyon Deer Farm:
At this farm 25 miles west of Flagstaff, you can do more than just see the deer--you can walk among them, touch them, even feed them. In fact, the 60 to 80 fallow deer will eat right out of your hand. In June through August you'll see fawns (baby deer) throughout the farm and may be lucky enough to observe one being born. There are other deer varieties including mule, sika, axis, even reindeer. Visit the unusual animals--the farm's resident buffalo, pronghorn and blackbuck antelope, kangaroos, wallabies and llamas--as well as the more traditional farm animals: chickens, turkeys, peacocks and a potbellied pig. Collectibles and gifts can be found at the Big Red Barn Souvenir Shop.
