Where can you take a seven-year-old, a military man, and a mom and never once hear "I'm bored"?: Tuckaleeche Campground in Townsend, Tennessee. One Labor Day weekend we camped, visited Cades Cove and saw a bear climb up a tree, went to Gatlinburg and toured Ripley's Aquarium, and tubed the river...we survived the Gulch! Our campground had nightly entertainment: everything from storytelling to bluegrass music. Long-bearded mountain men drove around in golf carts to deliver your firewood and keep you safe at night. Roasting marshmallows and sleeping under the stars made for a memorable family vacation.
