We discovered the beauty of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods in California on a family camping trip. Jedediah Smith has some of the largest redwood trees in the world. The Smith River runs parallel to it and is great for fishing and rafting. Our children enjoyed the Junior Ranger program and nature center. There are hiking trails and a pedestrian foot bridge that's rebuilt every year to cross the river. Pitching a tent under the giant redwoods and roasting marshmallows over a fire made us feel like we were in another world. Each year our children insist that we camp at Jedediah Redwoods.
