Born in coastal New England, our kids consider deserty, mountain-ringed Tucson, Arizona, to be the opposite of home. So, naturally, they're crazy about it. They adore the huge saguaros (which look like giant pickles waving hello, according to our son Connor), the lizards that scurry away as we hike along trails in the Sonoran Desert, and eating burritos three times a day. We like Tucson's cowboy town meets college town vibe (it's home to the University of Arizona) and the wild extremes in geography.
