*By the way, if you can't make it to the parks for the holiday, you can watch the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade on December 25 on ABC-TV.

Question What's going on at the various parks at Christmas? Do you need special tickets, or will a regular theme park ticket get you into everything?

Answer Let's break it down park by park:

Magic Kingdom: At the Magic Kingdom the big news is Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Held on selected evenings from November 13 through December 22, this party is the only Christmas event in the parks that will require a special ticket. The advance purchase ticket prices are $39.95 for adults and $31.95 for kids 3-9 (prices include tax) and can be ordered by calling (407) W-DISNEY. Front gate prices are $45.95 for adults and $37.95 for kids 3-9. This popular event, which is oriented toward children under 12, often sells out in advance, so if you want to see the special shows and parades -- as well as real snow on Main Street -- be sure to call early.

Epcot: Traditional celebrations from around the globe are offered at Epcot from December 14 to December 30. The Candlelight Processional, a very moving presentation that has through the years become the cornerstone of Epcot's celebration, is a retelling of the traditional Christmas story, featuring celebrity narrators, a 50-piece orchestra, and mass choir. Special packages that include dinner at select Epcot restaurants and preferred seating for the Candlelight Processional are available by calling 407/WDW-DINE. In addition to the Candlelight Processional, Epcot offers Holidays Around the World throughout the World Showcase, featuring choirs, storytellers, fireworks, and tree-lighting ceremonies.

Disney-MGM Studios: The big news at MGM -- as it has been for several years -- is the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights, which sparkles every night between December 9 and January 7. Jennings Osborne, an Arkansas businessman who created the light show for his own family, donated the more than 5 million lights to Walt Disney World. The displays include 170 angels, two carousels, and 50 lighted Mickey Mouse figures. It's incredibly garish -- and lots of fun.

A large part of the joy of spending Christmas at Disney is the decorations, both in the parks and at the resorts. So be sure to save time to just wander the parks and visit various resorts. Special holiday parades and tree lightings are also fun, and you don't need any special tickets or advance reservations for those.

One word of warning: This season, especially the week between Christmas and New Year's, is a busy time at Disney. Make sure you arrange your hotel accommodations and dining well in advance, by calling 407/W-DISNEY.

Seasonal Prices and Dates are Subject to Change.
