Treat your valentine to a flower with a sweet surprise at its center.

- Tissue paper
- Pinking shears
- Pipe cleaners
- Chocolate kiss

For each flower, cut six sheets of seven-by-10-inch tissue paper and pink the edges on the long sides. Individually accordion-fold the sheets in 3/4-inch pleats from the shorter sides and arrange them side by side.

Twist a pipe cleaner around the middle of the folds and pull down so that it becomes the stem. Fan out the tissue paper so it resembles a carnation.

Finish it off by gluing a chocolate kiss to the center.
