As a tradition every Valentine's Day, my family makes a Love Box covered with hearts and family photos. A week before the holiday, we place the box in the kitchen with a stack of paper hearts. Each day, everyone secretly writes love notes to other members of the family and puts them into the box. The notes range from "I loved how you played dinosaurs with me" to "I love it when you hold my hand." On Valentine's night, we open the box and read the messages while sipping sparkling cider and eating strawberries dipped in chocolate.
