Eat Your Heart Out Meatballs

From Kathy in Gasport, New York

My stepdaughter, Ashley, age eight, and I decided to make a Valentine's Day dinner for the rest of the family. Since we all love spaghetti, and the red sauce seemed fitting for the holiday, we settled on that. But to make it special, we decided to add heart-shaped meatballs. We followed our regular recipe, but instead of rolling the meat into spheres, we spread it out on waxed paper, about a quarter inch thick. We used a heart-shaped cookie cutter to punch out the hearts, then cooked them right in the sauce. When we served up our hearty dinner, everyone really ate it up! -- Kathy C., Gasport, New York
