Child's winter boots
Child's mittens

To build this classic Snow Mom, start with a three-snowball body. Add charcoal briquette eyes, a carrot nose and an apple-chunk mouth (secured with toothpicks). Use sticks to support her mittened hands. A perky scarf and stone buttons complete her outfit.

Construct the smaller snow child from the bottom up, starting with snow pants stuffed with packed snow. Next, create the child's torso from a single elongated snowball smooshed into the snow at the waist of the stuffed pants, then joined to the back of the snow mother's head. Support the child on his mother's shoulders with a stick brace (as shown).

Stuff a pair of winter boots into the child's snow pants and use snow to hold his mittens in place. Finally, top off the structure with the child's snowy head, shaped with a Conehead-like point to support his hat. As for his features, make him look just like his mother.
